Barry Ford — Specialist Physiotherapist & Director

Why Estuary Physio Was Created

My name is Barry Ford, Lead Physiotherapist and Director at Estuary Physio. I have over 25 years of experience in rehabilitation physiotherapy, working across hospital, community and home settings. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how important consistent, specialist support is in helping people achieve meaningful, long-term progress.

One of the most common challenges I saw was what happened after physiotherapy ended. Many people would make good initial progress, but without ongoing support, that progress could slow or even be lost. Families were often left unsure how to continue, and as clinicians, it could be frustrating knowing that more could be done to support long-term recovery.

Estuary Physio was created to bridge that gap. Our aim is to provide high-quality, specialist physiotherapy in the home, with a focus not just on short-term improvement, but on building sustainable progress over time. We believe rehabilitation should fit around real life, helping people regain confidence, independence and control in their own environment.

We also look beyond traditional physiotherapy. Where appropriate, we support individuals to connect with community activities, adaptive exercise, and local support networks, helping to create a longer-term structure that continues beyond formal treatment. This approach has helped many of our clients return to activities they enjoy, stay active, and feel more confident in their day-to-day lives.

Our goal is simple — to provide the level of care, consistency and support that we would want for our own families.
